Upper, Lower or bang in the Middle!
Whilst a class system isn't something I prescribe to, I always found it strange that as someone from a "Working class" background, my chosen career path automatically made me "Middle Class" if I had lived 100 years ago in the UK.
Being the creative soul that I am, and also a lover of royal history and themes within that, I decided to implement a class system in my Sims 2 game.
A class system adds to the depth of story telling for my Sims and can be a great way to control who speaks to who, and who marries who etc.
A great Mod I have used in the past and still use somewhat or will use in the future is this one by Marhis.

This allows the social interactions between the 5 social class groups to be the greeting interaction for playable sims, which can be a great way to split into 5 classes. But currently I am running my Uberhood on a three class system which you can see detailed below.
Firstly I use the "How much money do you have?" system to work out wealth. See more information on this in a previous post found on my blog
In short this is the outcome of "How much money do you have?" :
Lower class (not rich) '$' is any household fund up to $5,000
Middle class (moderately rich) '$$' is any household fund from $5,000 - $15,000
Upper class (very rich) '$$$' is any household fund $15,000 and above.
